HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

This program, originated in 1986, provides a source of financial assistance to Wyoming high school seniors who wish to pursue their education after high school. The cash scholarship is valued at $1,000.00. Presently two are awarded per Wildlife Division Region in the state, amounting to 14 total scholarships. These scholarships can be used for any trade school, community college or major university, instate or out-of-state. The senior must complete an essay application containing questions related to Wyoming's environment, hunting and their future plans. The recipients are picked by the game wardens in each region based on their essay answers and financial need.

Every Wyoming high school senior is encouraged to apply for the scholarships. The application deadline is March 1 of each year. Selection is made by the respective wardens in each of the seven wildlife regions by March 30. Every effort is made to present the scholarship award to the selected seniors at their high school awards ceremony by the local game warden.

Letter to Wyoming High School Counselors:

For thirty-eight straight years, the WYOMING GAME WARDENS ASSOCIATION has offered scholarships to WY high school students. The ASSOCIATION is offering fourteen scholarships for the seniors of the Class of 2024. The scholarships can be used by students planning to attend trade schools, community colleges or universities, either in state or out-of-state. We do not place any stipulations on the seniors' area of upper level education, but we do hope those seniors who apply for the scholarships are in need of added financial assistance. As in previous years we will be awarding two scholarships in each of the seven Wildlife Division Regions, and ASSOCIATION members in the local areas will make the selections. The scholarship amount was increased and is now $1,000.00. New this year, the application process will be fully online. We will be utilizing a google form to collect applications. Please have interested students fill out the form in its entirety, ensuring the email address used is one they will have access to through the end of the school year.
